Having undertaken the four establishments of mindfulness, the noble path is undertaken as well.

“Bhikkhus, those who have neglected these four establishments of mindfulness have neglected the noble path leading to the complete destruction of suffering. Those who have undertaken these four establishments of mindfulness have undertaken the noble path leading to the complete destruction of suffering.
“What four? Here, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu dwells contemplating the body in the body … feelings in feelings … mind in mind … phenomena in phenomena, ardent, clearly comprehending, mindful, having removed covetousness and displeasure in regard to the world.
Those who have neglected these four establishments of mindfulness have neglected the noble path leading to the complete destruction of suffering. Those who have undertaken these four establishments of mindfulness have undertaken the noble path leading to the complete destruction of suffering.”
ภิกษุทั้งหลาย สติปัฏฐานทั้ง ๔ อันบุคคลเหล่าใดเหล่าหนึ่งไม่ปรารภแล้ว อริยมรรคมีองค์ ๘ อันยังสัตว์ให้ถึงความสิ้นทุกข์โดยชอบ ก็เป็นอันบุคคลเหล่านั้นไม่ปรารภแล้ว สติปัฏฐานทั้ง ๔ อันบุคคลเหล่าใดเหล่าหนึ่งปรารภแล้ว อริยมรรคมีองค์ ๘ อันยังสัตว์ให้ถึงความสิ้นทุกข์โดยชอบ ก็เป็นอันบุคคลเหล่านั้นปรารภแล้ว.
ภิกษุทั้งหลาย สติปัฏฐานทั้ง ๔ เป็นอย่างไร คือ ภิกษุในกรณีนี้ ย่อมพิจารณาเห็นกายในกายอยู่ มีความเพียร มีสัมปชัญญะ มีสติ กำจัดอภิชฌาและโทมนัสในโลกเสีย ย่อมพิจารณาเห็นเวทนาในเวทนาทั้งหลายอยู่ มีความเพียร มีสัมปชัญญะ มีสติ กำจัดอภิชฌาและโทมนัสในโลกเสีย ย่อมพิจารณาเห็นจิตในจิตอยู่ มีความเพียร มีสัมปชัญญะ มีสติ กำจัดอภิชฌาและโทมนัสในโลกเสีย ย่อมพิจารณาเห็นธรรมในธรรมทั้งหลายอยู่ มีความเพียร มีสัมปชัญญะ มีสติ กำจัดอภิชฌาและโทมนัสในโลกเสีย.
ภิกษุทั้งหลาย สติปัฏฐานทั้ง ๔ เหล่านี้ อันบุคคลเหล่าใดเหล่าหนึ่งไม่ปรารภแล้ว อริยมรรคมีองค์ ๘ อันยังสัตว์ให้ถึงความสิ้นทุกข์โดยชอบ ก็เป็นอันบุคคลเหล่านั้นไม่ปรารภแล้ว สติปัฏฐานทั้ง ๔ เหล่านี้ อันบุคคลเหล่าใดเหล่าหนึ่งปรารภแล้ว อริยมรรคมีองค์ ๘ อันยังสัตว์ให้ถึงความสิ้นทุกข์โดยชอบ ก็เป็นอันบุคคลเหล่านั้นปรารภแล้ว.
