When a giver gives food, they give the recipients five things.

“Mendicants, when a giver gives food, they give the recipients five things. What five? Long life, beauty, happiness, strength, and eloquence.
Giving long life, they have long life as a god or human.
Giving beauty, they have beauty as a god or human.
Giving happiness, they have happiness as a god or human.
Giving strength, they have strength as a god or human.
Giving eloquence, they are eloquent as a god or human.
When a giver gives food, they give the recipients five things.
A wise one is a giver of life, strength,
beauty, and eloquence.
An intelligent giver of happiness
gains happiness in return.Giving life, strength, beauty,
happiness, and eloquence,
they’re long-lived and famous
wherever they’re reborn.”

“Bhikkhus, a donor who gives food gives the recipients five things. What five? One gives life, beauty, happiness, strength, and discernment. (1) Having given life, one partakes of life, whether celestial or human. (2) Having given beauty, one partakes of beauty, whether celestial or human. (3) Having given happiness, one partakes of happiness, whether celestial or human. (4) Having given strength, one partakes of strength, whether celestial or human. (5) Having given discernment, one partakes of discernment, whether celestial or human. A donor who gives food gives the recipients these five things.”
The wise one is a giver of life,
strength, beauty, and discernment.
The intelligent one is a donor of happiness
and in turn acquires happiness.Having given life, strength, beauty,
happiness, and discernment,
one is long-lived and famous
wherever one is reborn.
ภิกษุทั้งหลาย ทายกผู้ให้โภชนะ ชื่อว่าให้ฐานะ ๕ ประการแก่ปฏิคาหก ฐานะ ๕ ประการอะไรบ้าง คือ
๑) ให้อายุ
๒) ให้วรรณะ (ผิวพรรณ)
๓) ให้ความสุข
๔) ให้กำลัง (พละ)
๕) ให้ปฏิภาณ (ความฉลาดเฉียบแหลม)
ครั้นให้อายุแล้ว ย่อมเป็นผู้มีส่วนแห่งอายุ อันเป็นทิพย์และเป็นของมนุษย์ ครั้นให้วรรณะแล้ว ย่อมเป็นผู้มีส่วนแห่งวรรณะ อันเป็นทิพย์และเป็นของมนุษย์ ครั้นให้ความสุขแล้ว ย่อมเป็นผู้มีส่วนแห่งความสุข อันเป็นทิพย์และเป็นของมนุษย์ ครั้นให้กำลังแล้ว ย่อมเป็นผู้มีส่วนแห่งกำลัง อันเป็นทิพย์และเป็นของมนุษย์ ครั้นให้ปฏิภาณแล้ว ย่อมเป็นผู้มีส่วนแห่งปฏิภาณ อันเป็นทิพย์และเป็นของมนุษย์.
ภิกษุทั้งหลาย ทายกผู้ให้โภชนะ ชื่อว่าให้ฐานะ ๕ ประการเหล่านี้แลแก่ปฏิคาหก.
บัณฑิตผู้มีปัญญา ให้อายุย่อมได้อายุ
ให้กำลังย่อมได้กำลัง ให้วรรณะย่อมได้วรรณะ
ให้ปฏิภาณย่อมได้ปฏิภาณ ให้ความสุขย่อมได้ความสุข
ครั้นให้อายุ กำลัง วรรณะ ความสุข และปฏิภาณแล้ว
จะเกิดในที่ใดๆ ย่อมเป็นผู้มีอายุยืน มียศ ในที่นั้นๆ.
